Looking for a pickup game in some nice weather? Well, grab your basketball and head to one of the outdoor basketball courts that can be found at Conway, Keating, and Yellowstone Trail Park.

Outdoor Arena Hosting Multiple Events Throughout the year
Circle T Saddle Club was formed to develop and promote all things equine. The club strives to create and cultivate a healthy and happy family atmosphere wherein good sportsmanship, camaradrie, and enjoyment of all club related activities are the primary goal.
The club manages one of the best arenas in the area with excellent footing for riding all horse disciplines. Events hosted include yearly horse shows, open fun shows, clinics, sleigh rides, and fundraisers to help promote the club.

Professionals not needed to enjoy our local horseshoe pits. Just grab your picnic gear, the friends and family, and don’t forget the horseshoes. The atmosphere will be just what the doctor ordered for a little R&R.
Horseshoe pits are available at Yellowstone Trail Park between the covered pavilion and public restrooms.

Public Skating and Hockey Rink
Thorp has the only public ice skating rink with a staffed warming house between Wausau and Chippewa Falls. Skate or play hockey under our lights and to the music piped over the loudspeakers. You'll find a warm fire, good friends, and great times!
The City of Thorp is not responsible for accidents that may occur on the ice. Participants may be asked to leave the premises for failure to follow rink rules.

The Perfect Place To Relax
The City of Thorp has 6 named parks, along with several unnamed greenspaces. In all, Thorp's 61.35 acres of park and green space yields more than 39 acres per 1000 people--well above the 12.5 acre standard.
Thorp takes great pride in its parks. Please place all litter in the receptacles.
Dogs on leashes are welcome in Thorp's parks, so long as owners clean up after their pets. Owners are required to bring their own waste collection materials to the park. The waste can be placed in the trash receptacles as long as it is sealed.
Park pavilions can be reserved for $100/day. Please call City Hall at 715.669.5371 to check for availability and to place your reservation.

Give The Little Ones What They Really Want
Thorp has invested heavily in the education of the city’s children and that includes fantastic play areas. The importance of getting your little ones out and about is not only great for their health, but it gives you an excuse to get outside.
Playground equipment can be found at Conway, Keating, Northside, and Yellowstone Trail Park as well as the Catholic and Public Schools. These parks are meant exclusively for supervised young children.

Show Off Your Skills
The Thorp public shooting range open 24/7, 365 days a year. This space allows you to hone your privately owned firearms on four separate lanes. You are expected to pick up all of your trash and casings in order to leave the range like it was when you arrived.
This space is owned and managed by the Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club.
Directions: From Thorp, head south on Hwy M for six miles and turn right on Cloverdale Road. Brewster's Tavern is at that intersection as well as a large rifle range sign on the right side of the road. Go two miles and you will see an orange diamond marker with a black arrow on your right side just before the road makes a hard left. Take the road with the marker and you will arrive at the rifle range.

The Northside Park features four campsites that can be rented by calling the City Hall at (715)669-5371. These spots currently cost $25/night.
These campsites do have access to electric and water, but no access to showers or dumping stations. There is a public restroom next to the campsites which is open between 6am and 11pm daily.

At The Thorp Aquatic Facility
The Thorp Aquatic Facility is open throughout the summer weather permitting. This 205,000 gallon outdoor pool features a 155' water slide, zero-entry depth with water mushroom and water jets, diving board and water basketball hoop, concession stand with plenty of shade, as well as swimming lessons and water aerobics.

The tennis courts are available at Yellowstone Trail Park and open until dark.

The Thorp High School's track is open to the public every weekday for you to enjoy. This Olympic-size track is perfect to help you train in the off-season or get ready for your next five-miler.
Head to the Thorp High School on the south side by the football field to get started.

This 20-acre city-owned facility is just outside the northwest corner of the city limits on Pine Road. The Goggle Eye Trap Club has a long-term lease and operates the facility. It is open to the public and features a clubhouse, three trap houses, shooting stations and lights for nighttime shooting.
